Remember the Philips Streamium MCI900, that was thinking outside of the box when it came to its tweeter positions? Well, the Dutch electronics firm is at it again with the newly announced Philips Fidelio SoundSphere.
The Fidelio SoundSphere speaker setup consists of two separate units that boast free flowing tweeters in an antenna-like position, meaning "sound in all directions for a deeper and wider audio impression with minimised interferences".
The audio system also features Apple's AirPlay connectivity meaning that you can beam over tunes from your iPad, iPhone, iPod touch, or Mac, without the bother of having to mess around with pesky wires. You can also dock your iPhone or iPod in the curvy looking station that comes with the speakers.
Priced at 799 euros (with GBP prices to be confirmed), the Philips Fidelio SoundSphere certainly isn't cheap - but it will hope to sit alongside the likes of Bowers & Wilkins' Zeppelin and the Arcam Cube at the top end of the iDevice audio playback spectrum.
It's out in May.
