Google's Eric Schmidt has just demoed a rival to Apple's iMovie called Movie Studio at MWC 2011, which will be available on Honeycomb tablets.

Unveiled at Google's MWC keynote, the app which we think was shown on the Xoom tablet, was built with a focus on the tablet form factor, a bit like Honeycomb, and the new movie editor app appears to get everything you would possibly need to jazz up pictures and video before uploading to YouTube.

This, along with the news that YouTube has been increasing its video upload speeds, should mean that Honeycomb tablet owners will be given a fast track system for sharing content.

We'll be getting all hands-on with the new Movie Studio in good time, so stay tuned to Pocket-lint for more information and photos soon.
