It's hardly the most riveting overview, but this is the first time we've seen the Sony Ericsson Neo (aka the Vivaz 2, aka the MT15i) and all of its Gingerbread goodness in action, so we've at least got some excuse to get excited.

The Neo, which will undoubtedly get an official airing at Mobile World Congress, packs not only Android 2.3, but supposedly a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM7630 chip, Adreno 205 graphics, 512MB RAM, a 854x480 "Reality Display", an 8.1-megapixel camera and a 1500mAh battery.

In terms of the Xperia food line, we expect it to sit around the middle, not as high as the Xperia Play or the Arc, but above the ageing X8 and X10 ranges.

Sony Ericsson doesn't do secrets very well. The phone manufacturer trademarked the names Xperia Play, Xperia Arc, Xperia Neo and Xperia Duo back in December and now we're just waiting for snippets of the Duo to leak through.

Could it be that SE has at least one surprise phone up its sleeve for MWC? Maybe, but there's still a few days to go before it kicks off, so watch this space.
