Everywhere you go, always take Google weather with you
You may have read earlier on Pocket-lint about Google's latest cloud service. And whilst that cloud has nothing to do with the weather, there is some meteorology-based goings on over at Mountain View.
And that's because Google has revamped its mobile search results page (for Android devices and iPhones) so a search for "weather" returns a nice looking, interactive forecast based on your current location (or another one of your choosing).
"We’d been wanting to build a fun, useful, app-like way to display weather information on our search results pages in the mobile browser", read a post on the Google blog.
"So we pulled together a user experience designer and team of engineers and built a new weather search results snippet that lets you actually play with the results".
You'll get the weather for the next 12 hours, with a slider so you can see an hour-by-hour breakdown. You'll also get a forecast for the next 4 days.
The weather service is available now, for English search locations.
