Retractable iPod docking with the Pure Contour

What's that you say? You want yet more tech release news from CES 2011? Oh, okay then - here you go....

British radio specialist Pure has announced its latest device at the Vegas expo, the Pure Contour, the seventh Flow connected radio in its range.

As it's a Flow machine you'll have access to the usual wealth of Pure web-based goodies, including FlowSongs tagging and access to the lounge.

But the key feature of the Contour is that it has a retractable iPod/iPhone dock, making it easier to plug in your iDevice when you want to. There's also a aux-in port too, if you're in the anti-Apple brigade.

The Contour really is your iDevice's BFF - it also has video-out (component, S-Video and composite) to allow you to view videos stored on your iPhone or iPod on the TV.

As it's Pure there is, of course, radio options on board too - and you'll also be able to use the Contour as a media streamer.

The Contour also has Pure's Clearsound tech on board, meaning that you'll get "clear dynamic audio, higher volume levels and low power consumption". Its casing is also "acoustically tuned" and has dual bass ports with a 36W RMS, and a response range from 18KHz down to less than 50Hz.

The Pure Contour will cost £199.99 when it hits the shops.
