Windows RIMers have been getting one over their Apple counterparts lately, with Wi-Fi music syncing and the like, but now that the BlackBerry Desktop Software 2.0 for Mac has landed, they're back on an even keel.

The Mac OS X friendly platform brings a wealth of features to the Mac BlackBerry brigade including the Wi-Fi music syncing as mentioned, the ability to sync videos and photos with iTunes and iPhoto, and a device-switch wizard which should help you switch from one BlackBerry handset to another.

BlackBerry Desktop Software 2.0 for Mac also introduces a function to automatically restore secure services to a BlackBerry smartphone after a software upgrade, downgrade or reload.

The software is available now, as a free download from RIM.
