Simple yet stylish

To celebrate their first birthday, Vita Audio have launched a special edition of their R1 DAB/FM table-radio dubbed the "Dream".

Boasting a "white piano" lacquer finish with a crisp white on black liquid crystal display, the company says that the R1 Dream shows Vita Audio’s commitment to setting new standards for style and sound in compact audio.

Claiming to eschew the cheap look and feel of plastics, instead the R1 Dream employs handcrafted cabinets along with cool and tactile pressed steel panels.

Vita Audio have developed their own RotoDial control system, instead of a mass of buttons that should offer simple and intuitive operation.

As well as a radio, the R1 can be used as a speaker - connect an iPod or other portable audio device to the switchable line socket conveniently located on the front panel and you have a compact music system.

Vita Audio products are available through John Lewis, House of Fraser, Selfridges, Harrods, Conran and a select range of audio and design stores. The R1 Dream is £179.99.
