Creative have confirmed to Pocket-lint that it plans to release a console-ready version of its newly announced SoundBlaster Tactic 3D headphones in the new year.
The headphones, which are just making their way to the PC and Mac, should also be making their way over to the likes of the Xbox 360 and PS3 in 2011, giving console gamers the chance to improve the audio performance when it comes to playing games like Call of Duty and MAG.
Although Creative couldn’t confirm an exact launch date for the new product, a spokesperson hinted to Pocket-lint that we should see a “big announcement” at the beginning of 2011.
Gadget fans will know that it just so happens that CES, the world’s largest annual tech show, is in Las Vegas in January. Well I never.
Making their way to the UK in the next couple of weeks, the PC and Mac versions sport THX TruStudio Pro Surround Audio and follow on from the special edition World of Warcraft (WOW) headphones Creative launched earlier in the year. It means that games who aren’t fans of WOW, can now get a slice of the action without the crazy logos and clan badges on the side.
As before, the current PC and Mac version will allow you to change your voice to sound like an Orc, a snappy child, or even your grandpa.
No word, however, whether those features will be coming to the console version.
We will keep you posted.
