Well, it's been available for a whole day now, so it was due a tear-down. But, it isn't the iFixit chaps who have stripped the Samsung Galaxy Tab so as we can take a look at its innards - but a mobile device modder who goes by the name of jkkmobile.

And, according to this chap at least, it's a solid build with a composite material on the inside, actual speaker boxes (which is why the sound is good for a small device) and board to board connectors, which is good news for any potential modders out there.

And, if you were wondering (and why wouldn't you be, it's obviously the burning question?) the SamTab has a Bill of Materials value of about £128, which is significantly less than the £529+ that Samsung wants you to pay for it.
