Barnes and Noble has announced the launch of the Nook Color, a 7-inch colour ebook reader that aims to bring colour to your reading, and guess what? Pocket-lint was there at the launch in New York City to see what all the fuss was about and get a bevy of photos so you can see what's what.

The new model will come with an 8GB storage capacity letting you store up to 6000 books, magazines or newspapers, Facebook and Twitter support for sharing quotes, and Wi-Fi so you can download books without the need to be connected to a computer.

Due out in the US on 19 November it will cost $249, more expensive than the Amazon Kindle, but cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy Tab on Sprint.
