Roger Taylor, chief financial officer of Carphone Warehouse has spoken to the FT about the company's deal to sell Apple's iPhone.

The remarks were made as Carphone Warehouse revealed their second quarter trading results, described as "mixed", although total mobile connections rose 19.2% to 2.8 million.

Taylor said that the company, as the exclusive third-party high street seller of iPhones, was "very confident" of having enough of the handsets to meet demand across all its stores when it goes on sale on November 9th.

Taylor stated: "We do make money on the iPhone, though possibly not as much as we would like. But the real benefit is as a huge driver of footfall and accessories sales. We are very confident of our supply of devices and we have had a lot of reassurances from Apple".
