Tech deals: Virgin Media revamps £8.50 mobile range
For some folk only a smartphone will do; an iPhone 4, an HTC Desire HD, or perhaps even a Windows Phone 7 device.
However these aren't for everyone's taste, or for that matter pocket, so you might be interested that Virgin Media has "revamped" its £8.50 mobile range with a few more handsets.
Jonathan Kini, director of mobile at Virgin Media, said: “We’re delighted to be able to offer this fantastic new range of handsets for free on our incredibly popular £8.50 tariff. There’s something for all the family in this new range and existing Virgin Media customers can benefit from even greater value with a host of exclusive extras including free calls to Virgin Mobiles from their home phones”.
The deal is available to both new and existing customers, which provides 100 minutes and 100 texts on a long-haul 24-month contract.
The new additions include the special edition Nokia 5230 Chrome, Nokia X2, Nokia 6700 Slide in Silver or Pink, Samsung Monte in Pink or Black and the Samsung Tocco - nothing to get really excited about, but not bad for £8.50 a month.
You can also get internet access, which will cost you 30p for 25MB and "usage over this amount increases cost by £1.69 to a total of £1.99".
