INQ working on a Spotify phone?

INQ, the British phone manufacturer, could be working on a new phone with Spotify built-in.

Speaking with Business Week, INQ's CEO Frank Meehan said that the company plans to make it easier for owners to use Spotify on its mobile phone.

Mobile users can currently access Spotify from a number of mobile phones, including the iPhone, Android devices, via a free app and a Spotify Premium account. The app lets users search and play tracks from Spotify's massive catalogue over their phone's Wi-Fi or 3G connection. Subscribers are also allowed to download 3333 songs directly onto their devices.

INQ's latest handset, the INQ Chat 3G, has a number of apps built in, including Facebook, Twitter and Skype.

If Spotify was to make it onto the next INQ handset, then we'd expect to see it pre-installed in a similar fashion.

During the interview, Meehan declined to comment as to whether INQ is working with Facebook on a dedicated handset for the social network giant.
