Bose has announced the new Bose Wave music system, which now offers DAB radio - but only thanks to an extra module.

With the new Wave music system-DAB, owners can listen to CDs and FM/AM stations as well as DAB stations with what Bose claims is "lifelike, room-filling sound".

Apparently simple to set up and use, with no buttons, all controls are via the credit card-sized remote while DAB information appears in on the Wave music system’s display.

Two connections link the DAB module to the Wave music system. An available five-foot extension cable set gives listeners the flexibility to place the module on a separate shelf or out of sight.

The Wave music system incorporates proprietary Bose waveguide speaker technology to reproduce low musical notes without increasing the system's size.

It also uses proprietary signal processing that they claim improves instrument clarity and definition at all listening levels.

The Wave music system-DAB is available in platinum white and graphite gray and retails for £499.

The Wave DAB module is also available separately as an optional accessory to current Wave music system and Wave radio II owners for £149.
