The Ryder Cup kicks off on Friday and just because the players have been banned from Twitter it doesn't mean that the fans shouldn't enjoy a bit of mobile fun.
And whilst it's all well and good tweeting about the event whilst you watch, you'll still find that there will be times when you'll get bored - probably when the inevitable rain breaks come.
And you'll need a nifty little game to take your mind off of things.
And, with that in mind, we bring you our latest App of The Day.....
Tiger Woods PGA Tour
- iPhone, iPod touch
- £0.59 (for limited time)
People who have played any of the Tiger Woods games via its various console releases will know exactly what to expect from this game. Basically you can take on (or become) Tiger, as well as other PGA golfers such as Annika Sorenstam, Vijay Singh, Natalie Gulbis and Retief Goosen across the PGA calendar.
It might not have the detail of its seventh generation cousins, but fans of the title won't be too disappointed. Familiar features are all still on board, including player personalisation, quick play modes, the full PGA tour and commentary from the pros - Sam Torrance and Kelly Tilghman.
Gameplay is very neat. It's much more fluid than Let's Golf 2 for example, courtesy of the swipe swing control method - although the cartoon graphics of LG2 probably work slightly better than the attempted rich detail of Tiger Woods.
There are seven different courses to play, and you can even buy additional ones via the PGA Shop within the app.
You can also play with your buddies via a Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connection, if you get bored of beating Tiger and the gang.
The game has some really nice touches as well. There is a music button for easy access to your iTunes library, which is great when the commentators begin to wind you up, and the game also has an auto-save function which lets you resume from the shot you left it at.
For 59p it's an absolute steal, but move fast before EA slaps it up to around £3.49 again. Even then though, it is still a bargain for what is a very strong golf sim title.
