HP has announced the launch of two new "connected" printers, one with a detachable 7-inch screen that lets you surf the web and action your printer to print away from wherever you've hidden it.
Called the HP Photosmart eStation, the all-in-one printer, which gets its UK debut on Tuesday 28 September will feature web browsing and access to HP print apps and widgets – plus a detachable, 7-inch, full-color touchscreen for mobile freedom in the home.
In the States, the additional features include access to Barnes & Noble’s eBookstore with more than 1 million digital titles as well as one-touch access to customized content from Yahoo!, Yahoo! Mail, Yahoo! Messenger, Yahoo! Search and Yahoo! Weather direct from the display.
Customers also can fax without the need of a phone line allowing you to believe you are still stuck in the 90s.
Costing $399 in the US and £379 in the UK.
But it's not just about the big and the great. The HP Envy 100 e-All-in-One is a sleek, slim-line printer designed to "complement modern home décor" says HP - and presumably its Envy range of laptops.
It features a high-resolution touchscreen display, "whisper-quiet" operation and a retractable paper tray.
It will cost $249 in US and £249 in UK.
Both models will offer HP ePrint functionality meaning you'll be able to directly print from Apple iPad, iPod touch and iPhone devices with iOS 4.2.
