Nokia, confused as to why rumours have started circulating that its latest smartphone the N8 is reported to have been delayed, has issued a statement via its official blog.
According to the Finnish company, the N8 is still on schedule for a Q3 2010 launch date.
"As we have previously said, we still expect to start the shipments by the end of the third quarter," before adding "As with every global launch, when the device reaches the hand of the customer will vary by market and operator."
That Q3 promise will come in the guise of shipments going out to those that were quick off the mark pre-ordering.
"We have received a record number of online pre-orders for the Nokia N8. We had targeted our online pre-order customers to receive their N8s by the end of September."
However those that didn't pre-order should not expect to get their handset until October.
