Lovefilm, the online movie rental service in the UK, could be about to be bought by Amazon according to the Sunday Times.
The service that lets users have movies delivered to their door without the hassle of going to the video shop and standing there for hours deciding what to watch is supposedly been made a takeover offer by Amazon claims the paper.
Amazon already owns around 42 per cent of the company according to a report in Reuters, and presumably just wants it all to maximise it's return.
Lovefilm, has been seen by many as the perfect takeover vehicle for US equivalent Netflix to break into the UK market, something that if the Amazon bid was successful would be out of the picture.
Lovefilm and Amazon have so far declined to comment on the move.
