Sansa Fuze+ turns up on the low budget scene

Sandisk has launched the Sansa Fuze+ MP3 player to compete with the portable media machines in the sub-£100 category. Headline specs include a 2.4" QVGA LCD, 24-hour audio playback (5 for video) and either 4, 8 or 16GB flash memory all expandable with microSD cards.

For those worrying about their obscure file type collection, the full list of support is for MP3, WMA, WAV, AAC/M4A (DRM-free iTunes songs), FLAC, Ogg Vorbis, Audible, Secure WMA and podcasts on the audio front; H.264, MPEG-4, WMV, Flip Video on the video and JPEG, BMP, TIFF, GIF and PNG for images as well. There's also an FM radio.

The Sansa Fuze+ is available in red, white, black, blue and purple from October and will cost £69, £79 or £89 depending on how much flash memory you need.
