Quincy Jones, the man who has been nominated for 79 Grammy awards (winning 27 of them), has teamed up with audio specialist AKG to release his signature line of headphones.
The legendary producer, composer and song-writer, who has worked with the likes of Michael Jackson, Ray Charles and Frank Sinatra, has given his approval to three different models, which all offer "premium" sound quality.
"Music is so much more than notes on a sheet of paper", Jones said. "When it’s created with passion, with soul, we get something that is greater than ourselves - and it can move us deeply.
"Throughout my entire career, I have trusted only AKG to deliver the highest standard of sound - the same standard I hold myself to when I make my music".
The lineup consists of the over-ear Q701 cans, which are "reference-class", the on-ear Q460 headphones that are "high-performance" and "portable" and the in-ear Q350 earphones, which "boast distinctive AKG-build quality and unrivalled audio engineering in an elegant, portable design".
All of the sets are available in lime green, black or white, with the prices ranging from $149.99 - $479.99. They are out in October - no UK prices are available at present.
A share of the profits from the headphones will go to the Quincy Jones Musiq Consortium, which is a foundation dedicated to making music education an ongoing part of the lives of American children.
