Tech deals: Ricoh GXR with P10 lens
Ricoh's innovative GXR camera system, which initially suffered criticism for being a tad on the expensive side has now, with the new P10 kit, had a drop in price to just £386 at Pixmania.co.uk - making it far more affordable.
The interchangeable camera system was originally released with two lens/sensor kits in the shape of the S10 24-72mm with a 10-megapixel 1/1.7 sensor, or the A12 50mm unit with a 12-megapixel APS-C sensor.
However, the new P10 offering now gives an element of flexibility, as it features a 10-megapixel CMOS sensor with a 28-300mm lens.
When we reviewed the system back in January 2010 it was praised for its DSLR-like quality pics in a format more akin to compact cameras. It also has very decent build and excellent image quality in decent light, although is let down to a degree in low light as on higher ISO settings noise tends to creep in.
So if you're looking for something a little different and, obviously, in the market for a higher quality compact then this could well be worth a look. For a place to buy click through on this link that'll take you to Pixmania.
