Harry Potter coming to Microsoft Kinect - Alaka-wavearmius!

Harry Potter will be getting the Microsoft Kinect makeover, EA has announced at this year's Gamescom trade show in Cologne, Germany.

EA brought on stage the two actors, who play the Weasley brothers in the films, to talk about and show the new game off.

When asked whether casting a spell in the game was like casting a spell in the movie the response was simple and to the point:

"It's exactly like it", one of the Phelps brothers told the EA presenter.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1 will be coming out on the Xbox 360 in November, in time for the UK launch.

EA showed a level where Harry and Hermione were battling death eaters although the game will follow a number of scenes from the new movie, EA has confirmed.

Although EA hasn't detailed much about the game, it does show that players won't have to worry about moving through the game, judging from the one level demo shown. Users instead will, it seems just have to worry about controlling their hand-movements to control the wand to cast spells while the game does the rest, Time Crisis style.

Gamers will, however, be able to specifically target enemies on screen by pointing in the direction with their hand.

The game will be connected to Xbox Live so gamers will be able to compare their scores.

Pocket-lint is at Gamescom and we'll try and get a hands on with the new game to give you our first thoughts shortly.
