The official unveiling of Samsung's Galaxy Tab iPad rival may not be until IFA 2010 in Berlin on 3 September, but a sizeable chunk of its technical specifications have been unearthed, thanks to a leaked version of the European firmware appearing online.
Firstly, it suggests that the official model number of the tablet is P1000, and that its 7-inch Super-AMOLED screen resolution will be 800 x 480. Its rear-mounted camera will have a maximum resolution of 2048 x 1536, while the front facing one (for video calling?) will be 320 x 240.
Interestingly, other stats claim that it will have a 1GHz ARM11 processor, rather than the 1.2GHz A8 version reported earlier, and that it will run Flash and Java (v1.5). There are currently no confirmed details, however, on the operating system.
The full leaked spec list, as discovered by oled-display.net, is as follows:
- Screen resolution 480 x 800
- Camera Max resolution 2048 x 1536
- Camcorder Max resolution 2048 x 1536
- Front cam Max resolution 240 x 320
- CPU Profile ARM11
- CPU Core S5PC110
- CPU speed 1.0GHz
- SyncML support
What do you think? Considering the spec list, will this be a valid rival to the iPad? Let us know in the comments below...
