Tech deals: Snap happy with bargain Nikon D5000
We cover all manner of different gadget and tech on Pocket-lint, but cameras must be one of our favourites.
So when an absolute cracker of a camera comes along - in this case the Nikon D5000 - at the jolly reasonable price of £464.98, we're bound to want to tell you about it.
Available from the Dixons online shop, this is a good couple of hundred off the launch price just a year ago, and when you take a look at our full review of the camera (as we're sure you always try and do before making any major tech purchase) this seems like a pretty decent offer.
As our reviewer put it: "the D5000 is excellent; a feature rich, semi-enthusiast-semi-novice DSLR (if there is such a thing, well, I suppose now, there is) that offers a responsive camera with bags of control in a lightweight (slightly bulky) easy to use DSLR body".
You'll get a 12-megapixel sensor, making for low noise at higher ISO settings and the ability to shoot video in 720p high-def at 24fps - with all your photos and video visible on its 2.7-inch tilt turn and swivel mount LCD.
If you're thinking about taking a step up in your photography, you could do a lot worse than checking this out.
