Pentax has announced the Pentax Optio A40 and Optio V10 in the States.

The A40 is a 12-megapixel model, and features three types of Shake Reduction including mechanical, digital and movie with the claim that each version helps deliver sharp, blur-free shots where camera shake is an issue such as action photography or in low light conditions.

The Optio A40 model also features the newest Face Recognition technology including a Natural Skin Tone mode and a Half-length Portrait mode, which automatically takes a head and shoulder photograph of subjects.

The Optio V10 is an ultra-slim compact digital camera equipped with a 3-inch LCD monitor that features 8 megapixels, and 3x optical zoom.

The Optio A40 will ship in October 2007 for US $299.95 and £219.00 in November the UK, while the Optio V10 will ship in November for $249.95 and £149 in the UK.
