RIM has announced the official launch of the BlackBerry eBay app into its App World.
The eBay app gives you access to the world's largest online auction site with all of the functions that you'd expect including the ability to search and bid on items, watch items, re-list items directly from your handset and access your My eBay section.
Using your BlackBerry's push notifications you'll get alerts when items you're bidding on or watching are ending, and you can also integrate the app with your BlackBerry's calendar to keep a record of when your auctions end.
”We are thrilled to be extending eBay’s mobile presence to millions of BlackBerry smartphone users around the globe”, said Steve Yankovich, VP of platform business solutions and mobile at eBay.
”When developing any mobile application, we take into account the unique features and advantages of the device to better meet our customers’ needs. With BlackBerry’s Push Service and multi-tasking technology, eBay buyers and sellers are able to stay up-to-date on great deals and sales”.
The app is free of charge and is available from the BlackBerry App World now, as long as your device is running OS 4.5 or higher.
