August International brings GPS to touchscreen portable TV

Here at Pocket-lint we're all big fans of dinky all-in-one touchscreen TV Freeview recorders, and as luck would have it that's exactly what August International has just launched.

The August DG400 is not only a 4.3-inch touch-screen digital Freeview TV, music, photo, and movie player, but it also doubles as a unit for the UK and Ireland - and as such is apparently "the first of its kind".

It gets an internal 2GB memory along with an integrated card reader, and supports a variety of formats which include AVI, WMV, MPG, ASF, MP3, WMA, JPEG and BMP directly from SD/MMC memory cards.

The built-in rechargeable battery will give you around 3.5 hours of TV viewing, and around 6 hours of video playback - so not enough for all the Godfather films, but you might get away with the Free Willy trilogy.

You'll also get two 3.5mm earphone jacks, so ideal for plugging the kids into, while you get on with other things - like driving or having a quick 40 winks.

The unit comes with a a 110-240V charger ensuring you can use the DG400 at home or abroad and a 12-24V car adaptor.

On sale now, it'll cost £214.99.
