The new 22-inch widescreen HD ready monitor, the HG216DP, from HANNSG will set you back £179, which is a rather nice price, so do the specs match up?It certainly looks alright in terms of styling, nothing that's offensive to our eyes, anyway. It can be wall-mounted with a VESA bracket should you so wish to go down that route.
More importantly, the HD ready part comes in the form of an HDMI input and 1680 x 1050 resolution capable of displaying 16.7 million colours.
The 1000:1 contrast ratio is good, the 300cdm2 brightness is fine, and the 5ms response time, although not perhaps good enough for uber-serious PC gamers, is respectable.
A 160 degree viewing and 20 degree tilt angles are adequate for desk use and it boasts as anti-glare finish.
Although the RRP is £179, the current price on Misco shows as £168.67 - including VAT - which might seem rather tempting...
