With the recent launch of the iPhone 4, and the multitude of apps available for the handset it's easy to forget some of the offerings from rival companies.
So we thought we'd fill you in on some of the apps available from the Nokia's OVI store in the lead up to the World Cup - helping you make the most of the football bonanza. The company has a mixture of apps available, which are mostly free and should allow any football-loving tech fiend to turn their phone into a football hub.
The free ones include Pepsi-themed wallpapers, allowing you to adorn your phone with not only some endearing images of top-flight footballers, but the fizzy drink manufacturer's logo. Very tasteful.
Whilst for the lady or gent who wants to keep up to date with all the facts and figures, as well as live game scores, there's three free offerings available: There's Nokia Goal 2010, which gives info on domestic as well as international action, and although it might seem strange getting you football news from American networks - as they sometimes struggle to get to grips with the intricacies of the game - ESPNsoccernet is available as well as AP World Cup 2010. Be sure to tell us if they're any good.
If you're in desperate need of finding a pub which is showing World Cup games you might find the Footy Pubs 2010 app handy. It'll give you fixtures and footy times as well as the venues. Meanwhile the Great Goals app is free and might help while away some time as it gives access to some audio and video downloads of, er, great goals.
And finally, if you're into you're gaming there's a dedicated World Cup offering in the form of EA SPORTS 2010 FIFA World Cup for mobile - which you'll need to splash the cash for at a pricey £4, so make sure you read some reviews first.
If you do happen to download any of the above be sure to let us know what you think.
