Mozilla sets Firefox free into the wild

You may recall that we recently told you about Firefox Home, the upcoming Firefox app for the iPhone. Well, the technology behind that app has now been set free from the Mozilla labs and is available for you to use across your different PCs.

Firefox Sync 1.3 allows you to sync all of your browser history, tabs, bookmarks and home pages across multiple copies of Firefox. Handy if you have a desktop and a laptop PC for example.

At the moment, it's available as a Firefox extension, which you can get from here, although Mozilla says it will become a built in part of Firefox versions in the future.

It's a bit of a no-brainer if you use Firefox on more than one PC and want easier access to your browsing data. Plus, you'll be all set for the launch of the Firefox Home app too.
