Philips HDT8520 - the first UK Freeview HD recorder

We've covered this Freeview recorder a fair bit over the last few weeks, so we won't keep you for too long. We just wanted to let you know that it's available now, thus becoming the UK's first ever Freeview HD recorder. It just beat the Humax HDR-FOX T2 to the punch.

It's got a 500GB hard drive - enough for 125 hours of fantastic HD action or 250 hours of less fantastic SD action.

It's got a three hour buffer for time shifting and dual tuners so you can record one thing and watch another. There's 1080p upscaling and Ethernet connectivity, although there's no codec support yet for digital video playback.

It's £299 and you can get it from John Lewis, Currys, Comet, Tesco, Amazon or Richer Sounds, as well as lots of other places.
