T-Mobile and 3 have announced that HTC's latest Android handset, the HTC Wildfire, will be available on both networks from next month. The Wildfire will be available on a £20 per month contract on T-Mobile, although you'll be tied in for 2 years.
The HTC Wildfire has a 3.2-inch, QVGA capacitive touchscreen, 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, optical joystick, and a 1300mAh battery. There's a Qualcomm 528MHz processor, 3G, Wi-Fi and GPS, and it runs Android 2.1 cloaked in the HTC Sense UI. Check out our hands on photos here.
Nicola Shenton, head of Handset and Device Marketing at T-Mobile UK said:
“The HTC Wildfire is a great addition to our Android portfolio, offering customers an affordable way to get their hands on an Android-based smartphone. The HTC Wildfire is perfect for those who love social networking, and with App Sharing its even easier for customers to share their favourite apps with their friends, so they can have even more fun with Android marketplace”.
Strangely virtually the same thing that 3's Sylvia Chind Head of Branded Devices is saying too:
"It’s great to be adding the HTC Wildfire to our ever growing Android range. The HTC Wildfire brings together your communications platforms, making sure you never miss an update, message or tweet. When staying in touch on the move a strong 3G network like ours is necessary. Pairing this affordable Android phone with our network continues to give our customers great smartphone choices. We'll be announcing dates and pricing shortly".
Well at least they both agree.
T-Mobile is saying the phone will be available from 14 June, 3 has yet to put a date on availability as yet.
