Maybe Apple has put some money aside just in case its lawsuits with Nokia and HTC go against it. Maybe that's the reason that it hasn't been able to pay some Don Draper-style ad geniuses for new ideas to promote the iPad, and have instead rehashed an old campaign.

Because it's startlingly obvious that the latest iPad commercial, "What is iPad?" is more than just a nod at the "What is Newton?" commercial that was used to promote Apple's much-maligned PDA back in the 1990s.

If Apple continues along the same lines for this iPad campaign then expect two more instalments, asking 'Who is iPad?' and 'Where is iPad?'.
