Talkmobile lets customers slip into the red

Talkmobile, a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO), that operates via the Vodafone network has struck a deal with its network partner to allow customers on its pay-as-you-go tariffs the option of an overdraft of credit.

If you're the sort of person that is always running out of minutes or texts then this could be the deal for you.

The service, which is called Lifesaver, will allow users to go £1 into an overdraft facility, which is automatically paid back upon the next top-up. A service charge of 10p will also be taken from the next top-up. The £1 is not restricted to calls, it can also be used for texts or internet data.

Paul Layte, director of Talkmobile said: “This is a great value added service for our pre pay customers, ensuring they never run out of credit and that in an emergency they can make that vital call or text”.
