St John Ambulance launches iPhone app
Finally - an excuse to snog your iPhone, pretending that you're practicing CPR. St John Ambulance, the volunteer paramedic charity, has launched an app for medical enthusiasts that helps you learn your first aid skills.
The charity is pitching it as the first iPhone app that could be the difference between life and death, which seems a little alarming, but could possibly be true if you find yourself in the right place at the right time. We'll let you decide if that's worth £2.40. We'd question why it's not free if the goal is to spread first aid knowledge as widely as possible.
We'd also question why it's not available on other platforms too. We've asked St John Ambulance when there'll be an Android edition of the app, and so far we haven't had an answer. If we get one, we'll update this post and let you know. Until then, Android users, best start hanging out with your iPhone-owning friends. Just in case the unforeseeable happens.
