Mozilla updates Firefox but says no to Windows Phone 7

Mozilla has launched its latest version of Firefox, a whole 2 weeks ahead of schedule. The Firefox 3.6.2 browser is available to download now and fixes some rather key security issues that caused the German government to issue a warning against its use.

Fixing the flaw is essentially the only purpose of this next notch on the way up to 3.7 and will have already offered itself to most Mozilla browser users.

At the same time, word on the street from a company blog is that Mozilla will not be developing a mobile form of the Firefox software for the upcoming Windows Phone 7 platform. The boycott kicks against the news from Microsoft that there will not be any native third party app development on the company's OS.

It isn't likely that this is something that'll change in a hurry, but at least there's until Christmas 2010 to work out a way around having to use IE.
