Motorola and Orange have announced they will be launching the Motorola Milestone, the European name for the Droid, in Spain.
According to the press release the handset, which has been available in the UK and US since November, will ship with Android version 2.1 rather than the current 2.0 offering when it lands later this month.
Although Orange.es isn't setting when "later this month" actually is, with only 7 days to go before April, it's likely that a Milestone and Droid Over The Air (OTA) update is now expected within days rather than weeks.
Launched back in November and receiving a heavy push in the UK in the last week, the Motorola Milestone, has yet to be officially partnered with a carrier in the UK.
In the US, Verizon was expected to launch a 2.1 update last week, however a last minute glitch seemed to have postponed that event so far.
A quick check on a Milestone handset in the office still shows that no software updates are currently available.
Meanwhile HTC is rumoured to be seeding out its HTC Hero update in the UK on 16 April, according to rumours on the xda developers forum. However contacts we have within HTC are saying all they have on the update roadmap is spring.
