Network operator 3 has announced that it'll be selling Sony Ericsson's Vivaz handset with the Spotify Symbian app bundled, in a move that might help increase takeup of the streaming music service's premium offering.
As previously reported, the Vivaz features an impressive 8.1-megapixel camera and the ability to record 720p HD video, thanks to its beefy processor. There's also HSDPA, Wi-Fi and GPS functionality. You can read Pocket-lint's full review of the Vivaz, if you'd like to know more on that front.
3 will be offering the Vivaz in silver from £35 per month with unlimited internet, texts and 750 minutes, on a 24-month contract. Or, alternately, you can plump for a Pay As You Go deal, which comes in at £330 for the handset and then any top-up will give you free texts and data for 90 days. There's also free access to Skype and Windows Live Messenger.
However, remember that you'll need to subscribe to Spotify's Premium service to get access to the music app - that's an extra £10 per month. We're surprised that 3 hasn't issued a Spotify tariff for the handset like the one it offers on the HTC Hero. Perhaps it's yet to come. We'll keep you posted.
