Are you ready to rumble?

At the Tokyo Game Show Sony president Kaz Hirai has finally officially confirmed the existence of the Dualshock 3 controller for the PS3.

Although he did not mention pricing or exact availability for any territories, the Dualshock 3 will bring the much-longed for vibration features to the PS3.

High-profile games including Metal Gear Solid 4 and Devil May Cry 4, as well as others, will boast support for the rumble features.

"We have not made any changes to its outward appearance and design, but it does have vibration", said Kaz Hirai.

Japan will get the new controller in November while in the rest of the world gamers will have to wait until spring 2008.

Sony claimed technical difficulties were to blame for the lack of rumble in the controller at launch, but a patent dispute with Immersion, now resolved, is more likely to blame.
