A Tokyo building has been turned into a massive QR code, offering shoppers the opportunity to use their mobiles to snap a picture and be taken to a website that offers discounts on the shops in the local area.

There's also another experience planned - an augmented reality application that can display shop info, interactive adverts that allow you to make reservations and even displayTweets from people within the building.

Two companies created the work - Teradadesign and Qosmo. The latter company said: "Our goal is to provide an incentive to visit the space and a virtual connection to space without necessarily being present".
