BT has launched the Verve 450, a handset that can send and receives SMS text, is GAP-enabled, has an in-built answering machine, it stores up to 200 names and numbers and has conference call and hands-free capabilities – as well as a 300-metre outdoor range.

"Despite its elegant and fashionable design, the Verve 450 has cutting-edge features to satisfy the most discerning customer", says Ben Bailey, senior devices manager at BT Retail.

"And because five handsets can be used from one base unit, it’s ideal for families or co-habiters."

"The call screening, alarm clock and individual ring tones for different caller groups – together with the hands-free facility – are perfect accompaniments to a hectic lifestyle", Bailey continued.

"The Verve 450 is both stylish yet functional, proving that beauty isn’t always skin deep. There’s no reason why smart design and intelligent features can’t coexist."

The Verve 450 will be £49.99, available via the online BT shop.
