Violent video games worse than porn, claims porn star

At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, infamous porn star Ron Jeremy has labelled violent video games as having "a much bigger negative influence on kids" than porn. Jeremy made the comments in a session called "The Great Porn Debate".

"Studies have found that violent video games are a much bigger negative influence on kids", said Jeremy, who was in town for the Adult Entertainment Expo, which coincides with the world's biggest tech show in the same town and appeared at CES to promote tools designed to stop kids accessing porn.

Gamers have lined up to criticise the veteran porn actor, who has appeared in more than 2000 movies. Andy Chalk, of the Escapist, said: "I wouldn't want my kids (the hypothetical ones, that is) playing Modern Warfare 2 or becoming overly familiar with Ron's body of work, but is it really reasonable to say that one is significantly worse than the other?"

Pocket-lint was live on the ground at CES, and reported direct from the show. For a complete roundup of all of our coverage, you can head to our CES2010 tag page.
