6 Nations rugby to see live sports 3D debut

England's forthcoming rugby match against Wales is to be shot in, and then shown live in 3D at cinemas across the UK, in what will be Europe's first live sports broadcast in 3D.

Team sponsor O2 has revealed the match, due to take place at Twickenham on 6 February will be shown at 40 Odeon and Cineworld cinemas. Tickets will go on sale from 29 January priced from £12.50 for an adult.

Rugby Football Union spokesman Paul Vaughan told Sky: "This demonstrates that England Rugby has a rich history and an even richer future with exciting new developments such as O2's 3D screenings".

"I hope rugby fans will pack cinemas across the country to support the team and mark this milestone".

In case you can't catch the 6 Feb match, England's match against Ireland on 27 February will also get the 3D treatment.
