"A laptop, a photo frame, a presenting tool and a notepad" is how Acer describes the new Aspire Timeline 1820P. With a convertible design, the Windows 7-running 1820P boasts an 11.6-inch touchscreen display and up to 8 hours battery life.
As well as touch input, the new hybrid device offers stylus pen input too that can be used with the included TouchMemo software, while the wider touch side of things gets Acer's TouchPortal "where you can access applications and fun gadgets".
Sticking with the touch theme, there's a multi-gesture touchpad as well as a full-size Acer FineTip keyboard for when your arm starts to ache.
Hardware-wise, you're looking at a Intel Core 2 Duo processor, a Mobile Intel GS45 Express chipset with integrated 3D graphics and up to 8GB of DDR3 memory. Other specs include Wi-Fi, with Bluetooth and 3G connectivity optional, a 1366 x 768 resolution, LED-backlit display in 16:9, Dolby Sound Room and an HDMI port.
Available in three colours - "Sapphire Blue", "Diamond Black", and "Ruby Red" - the AS1820P is now available now from £529.99.
