HTC Smart mobile phone hands-on

HTC introed what it says is the first of a new category of smartphones out at CES, the HTC Smart, and we've snapped some pics for your viewing pleasure.

Annoyingly the model we grabbed wasn't actually working to show the interface. In fact HTC didn't have any working models on the stand showing the Brew-based Sense UI.

What we can tell you however is that Qualcomm, the chip maker, gets a big shout out at the back thanks to providing the phone's processor and the underlying operating system.

Specs come in with a 300MHz processor, 256MB of RAM and ROM, a 1100mAh battery and operator-dependent 2100MHz HSDPA/CDMA and/or quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE.

The handset offers a 2.8-inch QVGA screen, A2DP Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR, 3-megapixel camera, microSD card slot, media player and a 3.5mm jack.
