"Ultra-thin premium" LG X300 announced

LG has announced the launch of a new "ultra-thin premium mobile PC", the LG X300, at the CES event in Las Vegas.

LG says the X300 "offers the sleekest and most stylish look and feel ever for fashion-conscious road warriors".

Weighing in at 970g and 17.6mm thick, the X300 gets a 11.6-inch bezel-free (apparently) display and comes with a "distinctive white and light brown patterned lid".

The keyboard is said to be "unique", described as "reflective", while the borderless touchpad features hidden lighting and tactile feedback.

Based on a 2.0GHz Intel Menlow platform with up to 2GB memory and a solid state drive instead of a hard disk, the X300 claims up to 7 hours operation - with a spare 2-cell battery.

Other specs include a 1.3-megapixel webcam, SRS TruSurround HD sound and an embedded 3G modem chipset.

The X300 will begin its global rollout in Feb. You can expect a "premium" price tag.
