Parrot AR Drone turns iPhone into remote control Augmented Reality quadricopter remote

When you aren't using your iPhone to control your TV, your car, and your music system, it seems you'll now be able to use it to fly remote controlled helicopters.

Parrot, the company famed for making Bluetooth headsets and Bluetooth photo frames that cost a lot of money has clearly been allowing the R&D department have too much fun by letting them create and launch the Parrot AR Drone.

The helicopter like device can be controlled via an iPhone/iPod touch app over a standard Wi-Fi network and enables you to shoot down imaginary planes and enemies you see on the screen.

Those feeling the urge to max out will be able to do battle with two helicopters (or quadricopters as they are called).

No word on pricing or availability, but this could just be the ultimate boy's toy to replace those "laser-tag" guns you've no doubt got kicking around gathering dust.
