Garmin has launched the Oregon 450 and 450t touchscreen, waterproof, handheld GPS devices with brighter screens designed for hikers, cyclists and trail runners.
Boasting a "Custom Maps" feature, the "Connect" functionality will let users upload, store and share their treks via a PC, and when out and about the devices can transfer info, such as waypoints or geocaches wirelessly to other units.

Complete with barometric altimeter and a microSD card slot, the 450 and 450t last up to 16 hours on two AA batteries. Pricing and availability is to be TBC.
