Dell updates Mini 10 netbook

Dell's Inspiron Mini 10 netbook has been given the Pine Trail treatment as well as a "fresh new look". Dell promises longer battery life for the new model which it will be offering with optional bundles, including one for high definition entertainment.

The bundles are due to include options such as an HD display, Broadcom Crystal HD media accelerator, surround sound capability, built in HDTV tuner for over-the-air local HD broadcasts, or built-in location-enabled GPS.

The updated Mini 10 gets the new 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processor, 1GB RAM, 160GB or 250GB hard disk drive storage, and will be offered with a choice of Windows 7 Starter, Windows XP Home, or later in 2010, Ubuntu.

Boasting up to 9.5-hours of battery life with a 6-cell battery, the 10.1-inch Mini 10 gets a textured, smudge-resistant palm rest and sculpted keys.

Available in colours including alpine white, pretty pink, ice blue, gecko green, cherry red, passion purple and obsidian black, Dell expects the new Inspiron Mini 10 to be available in early January 2010 priced from £249.
