PSP gets digital comic store in the US

Hot on the heels of Sony Computer Entertainment announcing that PS Home is getting Sodium One, the company has also announced that its handheld console, the PSP, is getting a digital comicbook store.

It'll be population with content from several leading publishers, including Marvel, Disney, IDW Publishing and iVerse Media. That means it'll have G.I. Joe, Iron Man, Spider-Man, X-Men, the Fantastic Four, Transformers, and Star Trek.

550 titles should be on the PlayStation store right now with more content to be added weekly. You can access that store directly on your PSP over Wi-Fi, or from your PC, which then allows you to transfer the content across via USB cable.

You'll also need the Digital Comics Reader application, which comes with PSP firmware update v6.20. With it, you can flip page-to-page, zoom in and move around different frames. Comics are mostly $2, with a few costing $1 and a few costing $3.

There's one or two available free, too, including Donald Duck and the Fussy Genie, and All Hail Megatron. If you're a comics fan, go check out the selection and let us know what it's like in the comments below.
